Join Alec Nevala-Lee on April 13, 2024 for “Writing the SFF Novelette,” a workshop focused on idea generation, structure, and editing with an emphasis on the novelette, as well as elements of craft that can be applied to fiction of any length. SLF members receive a discount on registration.

The SLF hosts regular Saturday co-writing sessions from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. CDT. These sessions are for writers who would like support for their writing, and are currently open and free of charge to anyone interested in being a part of our writing community.

Opportunities for writers

Uncanny Magazine will be open to Flash Fiction submissions (750-1500 words) from February 19-26. Learn more and submit by Feb. 26 at uncannymagazine.com/submissions.

A Studio in the Woods invites applications for its 2024-25 Replenish Residencies, which provide one- to two-week restorative visioning retreats to Greater New Orleans BIPOC artists and culture bearers. OD Ekpeki Presents has announced a submissions call for Indopantheology: Stories from the Spiritual Margins, a new anthology co-edited by Oghenechovwe Donald Ekpeki, Rimi B.
