The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity will offer a two-week self-directed Science Fiction residency in Sept. 2025. Writers can take advantage of one-on-one mentorship opportunities with faculty, group discussions, and a community of artistic peers. 2025 faculty include Premee Mohamed, Ai Jiang, Amal El-Mohtar, and professional guest Ali Fisher. The MBRSC Short Story Award: New Voices in Sci-Fi is a new contest for science fiction short stories by writers ages 16–30 from the United Arab Emirates. The deadline is Nov. 16, 2025. More information on the contest and how to submit will be made available at emirateslitfest.com and mbrsc.ae.
Remains is a new color print magazine of new horror fiction, columns and features. It is published quarterly in January, April, July and October. The first issue was released in January 2025.
