The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts invites applications for fully-funded fellowships offering uninterrupted time and space for artists to produce works of literature, visual art, and music. Applicants will be considered for a VCCA residency and as many fully-funded fellowships for which they are eligible; only one application with a single application fee ($30) is required per deadline. Driftwood Press' 2025 Adrift Chapbook Contest is now open. The submission fee is $25. Each submitter will receive a free copy of a Driftwood Press poetry chapbook of their choice. The MBRSC Short Story Award: New Voices in Sci-Fi is a new contest for science fiction short stories by writers ages 16–30 from the United Arab Emirates. The deadline is Nov. 16, 2025. More information on the contest and how to submit will be made available at emirateslitfest.com and mbrsc.ae.
Remains is a new color print magazine of new horror fiction, columns and features. It is published quarterly in January, April, July and October. The first issue was released in January 2025.
